What does the Dollar / Lira price mean?
What it measures
The USDT/TRY pair traded on Binance — the lira price of a dollar-pegged token. Every lira pair on this site is derived from this anchor.
Where it differs
It is not identical to the dollar rate on your bank's screen: the bank applies its own buy-sell spread, and the central bank publishes an official bulletin once a day. All three are correct and all three measure different things — the official rates are shown separately at the bottom of the front page.
What moves it
Turkish central bank rate decisions, inflation data and the global dollar index. Because it trades on a crypto exchange it is priced at weekends too; movement while the banks are closed is normal.
